AmpliTube Fender™ App Reviews

Best thing since sliced bread

Seriously, $15 for 5 amps, a bunch of effects, AND a feature to jam along w your fave bands?? AND being able to slow down fave bands solos so its easier to learn them? All in your phone so u can play anywhere, anytime u feel like without worrying about family or neighbors? Yeah, this is the best deal. I mean its def is not a replacement for a real amp, but ive had it for 1.5 years now & Im very happy w it. The sound quality and the way u can mess around w different amps. I started playing 17 years ago and in high school I could only imagine this kind of thing in my wildest dreams!

Great app for real guitar players

I like the sounds I get from this app. Ive been able to record a number of demos with no problems.

dumbest registration processs

App works great . awesome sounds, it offers an extra pedal if you register the product on their website. 17 times ive reset the password they sent to me, and neither works on their website or through the app!!!.. aggrivating over one damm pedal for free!!

Sounds great but...

Like a physical amp, Fenders sound best when played through a Fender amp. My 79 Strat sounds great, and my Les Paul Custom, SG, and Korina Explorer just OK. Theyre not bad, just not as good as the regular Amplitube app. The output from the Fender app seems weaker than the regular app too. Maybe I just need to tinker with the settings a bit more.

crashes when I try to open

the free version works, even with in-app purchases, but the paid version crashes immediately. tried reinstalling and powering phone off/on

Do Not Buy!!!

So, I bought this ... I also own Amplitude for the iPad and iPhone ... Plus a whole bunch of in-app purchases. And ... iRig. Unlike my other defective hardware that Ive purchased from them ... THIS is something Ive actually been able to use ... Kind of ... Its so noisy ... Its worthless. Waste of money. I also purchased VocaLive AND the VocaLive iPad app. I even bought the crappy iRig mic. The mic is made from cheap materials that break easily. So easily ... It didnt even work out of the box. Customer Support? Forget about that too. (Read the other reviews and youll see that Im not the only person having problems) I lost my receipt for the iRig mic. They wont take their defective merchandise back without it. Ive given them a lot of my money for worthless hardware and software that I cant even use. $20 Amplitude $20 Amplitude for iPad $20 Fender Amplitude $20 VocaLive $20 VocaLive for iPad $30 iRig $60 iRig Mic (defective) Plus a whole bunch of in-app purchases??!! Not to mention I bought the iKlip for iPhone & iPad. YOUD THINK THAT ID BE A VALUED CUSTOMER!!! Will I ever buy another one of their products? Nope. And you shouldnt either. Dont waste your money like I did.

NEED AN UPDATE and STOP SITTING AROUND!!

How do I pay for something and it crashes and refuses to work with iRig properly? If youre looking for a competitor to out-do this app, you finally have one. Your licensing fees for the brands you use and pass onto the consumer are absolutely outrageous. You already know how tough it is for musicians to eat. Fix this immediately.

Great App for travel

Purchased this app and an I-rig at the last minute before a recent weeklong trip. Love it with no regrets! There is a bit of noise with it but the noise gate took care of most of it. Not recording with it so its not a problem for me. Ive been playing Teles and Strats through Fender amps for 20+ years and they nailed it for this app! Make sure your phones firmware is up to date before you buy. No more need to bring the acoustic in a soft case and look for a place to jamb when the wife sleeps in. Glad I bought it!

Glitchy

Absolutely horrible. The update screwed this app up. It crashes all the time. Sends blank audio files when sending. Audio cuts in and out also. Fix it.

In app transfer is a failure

They claim you can transfer these between various versions of Amplitube but thats a bold faced lie. Not only is there no obvious way to do so but when you find the "instructions" buried deep in their website, those "instructions" dont work at all! ONE STAR!!!!!

This stuff is terrible

For Christmas, my kids bought me this company’s iRig BlueBoard (foot pedal), iRig Midi Interface and iRig Microphone together with a suite of relevant software (AmpliTube, etc.) Nothing worked. And, perhaps I should explain that for 40 years I was a professor of mathematics and cognitive science at Northwestern, UMass, Purdue, and Indiana Universities - as well as being a software developer and experienced user of computer-based technologies. I’ve now retired and play a harmonica in several local bands (blues, country, rock, bluegrass). I mention this only to make it clear that I’m not an inexperienced user of these kinds of technologies. When I first experienced problems with IK Multimedia’s gadgets and software, I contacted their tech support people, and all they did was to tell me to read their manuals. I did this. And, to prove that I read the manuals thoroughly, I went though one of the manuals and make line-by-line editorial comments pointing out how nearly every sentence was either: (1) unhelpful, (2) completely unclear, (3) incomplete, or (4) completely wrong (in the sense that what was said simply wasn’t accurate). Then, I once again simplified my questions and contacted IK’s tech support people. This time, I did get a few suggestions about possible solutions to my problems. But, once again, virtually every sentence in this message was either: (1) completely unclear, (2) incomplete, or (3) completely wrong (in the sense that what was said simply wasn’t accurate). Also, the tech support person stated that some of the problems that I confronted could only be solved by purchasing more equipment that performed functions that IK Multimedia’s web site claims that their products are intended to do. Next, I tried going to IK Multimedia’s web site to see if there were other ways to get technical support. The contact numbers that were given reported that “the tech support lines were down.” And now, three days later, “the lines are still down." I’ve now seem to have no options except to ask for my money back on these purchases. … If you want to get a quick verification of what I’ve said, try downloading the things that are called “users manuals” for IK Multimedia’s products. The shortcomings will be obvious. These “users manuals” are not really users manuals at all. The simply describe what the products claim to do, but they give almost no information about how you (the user) could actually do any of these things. Also, these “users guides” contain a bunch of nearly identical photographs which contribute almost nothing to the meaningfulness of the text. … In more than 40 years of using a lot of computer-based tools, I’ve never encountered anything this bad in terms of overstated claims, completely useless “users guides”, and dismal tech support.

iRig damaged my headphone jack

3 devices later and almost $100 invested & this w/ "Amplitude"/ iRig & it still doesnt work. It was great when it worked for about 3 uses and then ruined my headphone jack. I was afraid to try it on my replacement iPhone & iPad but finally did and it doesnt work at all. I wasted money on the in app purchases too.
